Where We Be
The tour of Cape Town Beaches begins in the heart of the mother city. From there we jump to the valley of wood before ending up in, what some call, the “Mecca” of downwind paddling (Fish Hoek) in November. December is for memorials, Daniel Conradie in Strand and Peter Creese In Fish Hoek. Both these figures epitomised the spirit of Surf Ski and Surf Lifesaving in their time.
By this time paddlers should be well prepared for the EPIC Cape Point Challenge, mid December.
We return after the holidays with a revival of the Kommetjie Race: The Kom Kook Test. February sees us back on the Atlantic Seaboard for two open ocean races in one of the most picturesque locations in the world.
March brings us to a focussed search for downwind, where the organisers will aim to have the overall series positions decided in the runs. We can’t hold our breath, and we hope the Cape Doctor doesn’t hold hers!
